We can offer driver training to meet individual needs, from a basic learner driver to advanced level driving techniques.
Learner Driver Courses
We operate a progressive syallabus designed to take you from cockpit drill to confident driver.
You will be taught how to perform the necessary daily safety checks on your vehicle, legal responsibilities and practical driving skills which will serve you for life, not just to pass the DSA Test. Our aim is to develop your technique so that you can adapt it to drive to ever changing road and weather conditions.
Pass Plus Training Scheme
As a new driver you may find that your insurance premiums are quite high, by taking part in further training you may be entitled to discounts off your car insurance.
The Pass Plus Scheme was introduced by the Driving Standards Agency; its aim is to offer further training, delivered and assessed by your instructor, to help you improve your driving skills. When your instructor is happy that you have achieved the required level in each of the topics, you will receive a certificate from the DSA. You may then be able to use this to receive discounts from participating insurers.
The course will be for a minimum of 6 hours and will cover:-
Town driving, motorways, driving in rural areas, dual carriageways, all weather driving and night driving.

Motorway Driving
Driving on motorways places greater demands on your driving skills and requires forward planning to anticipate the possible actions of other road users.
If you have just passed your driving test, have not driven for a while, or you are not used to busy or fast moving traffic, our individually designed course can help both experienced and newly qualified drivers.
It will cover:
• Joining and leaving the motorway
• The motorway environment
• Developing effective observations
• Keeping your distance, braking and stopping
• Lane discipline and overtaking
• Breakdowns, roadwork’s signs and signals.
• Illness or fatigue
• Driving in different weather conditions and at night.
Advanced Driving Techniques
The course is designed to develop your driving skills in the four areas of advanced driving which are:
1. Concentration
2. Observation
3. Anticipation
4. Planning
You will cover town driving, motorways, driving in rural areas, and dual carriageways.
Taxi Driver Training
The legislation regarding the licensing of Hackney Carriage Drivers is due to undergo major changes. The main difference is that many local authorities are to place a driving test condition for all potential taxi drivers and at renewal.
As the legislation stands at this present time, each driver must undergo an assessment of driving ability.
At Learn With DAD, we are currently the only driver training company in Stoke on Trent to be accredited to carry out training in preparation for the forthcoming assessments.

Refresher / U.K Familiarisation
This training is designed to assist non-UK licence holders to gain the necessary experience to drive safely and confidently on all road types. For those licence holders wishing to gain residency, we provide training to prepare the driver for our DSA Driving Tests.
